What is Contactless Transaction
A contactless transaction is a payment method that allows you to pay for purchase or services without having to physically swipe your card or insert your credit or debit card. Instead of you just tap your card or smartphone on a contactless reader machine. Contactless payments use radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology to transmit payment information between the card or device and the reader machine. The RFID chip in the card or device emits a signal that is picked up by the reader. The reader then sends this signal to the merchant’s payment processor, which authorizes the payment.
Contactless transactions are typically limited to small amounts, such as 5000 or less. This is because the RFID chip in the card or device can only store a limited amount of data. For larger transactions, you will need to swipe or insert your card and enter your PIN.
Contactless payments are becoming increasingly popular because they are convenient and secure. They are also a good option for people who do not want to carry cash or who are concerned about the spread of germs.
